Is Horse slang? Read the lyrics to this cardigans song, and tell me what the heck it means!?

Don't Blame Your Daughter (Diamonds) lyrics

Don't blame your daughter

that's just sentimental

and don't blame your mom

for all that you've done wrong

Your dad is not guilty

you came out a little faulty

and the factory closed

so you can't hold them liable

You come from an island,

you're cutting diamonds

with a rubbery knife

Your autograph is worthless

so don't send me letters

and don't mail me cash

'cause your money is no good

What's left in your matress

is holes and lack of love left

some hair from a horse,

and none of it is yours, man

Mattresses and furniture was stuffed with horse hair before the advent of polymers. I imagine this is the reference.

Horse is a dated slang word for heroin but has no context here I feel.

I think the author of the song is saying " don't blame anyone else for the problems in your life". We are all individuals and are responsible for the choices we make in life. Some people make the wrong choices in their lives sometimes. I'm not sure of the reference to "Hair from a horse", but some mattresses used to be stuffed with horsehair. Hope this helps.

Could they be referring to a man or men - maybe one night stands? It seems a strange way to say it, but it kind of makes sense in the context.
